*Brinner is a playful slang term for eating breakfast foods for dinner, making a portmanteau of “breakfast” and “dinner”. A portmanteau is a linguistic and morphological term, where parts of both original words are blended together to create a brand-new meaning. Morphology, a.k.a. lexicography, is the scientific study of how words are built and structured in a language.
