Street food can easily outweigh even the finest dining establishments if you know where to go—and finding the best spots is one of the best parts of traveling. A new analysis from Radical Storage, which analyzed a hundred of the world’s most popular travel destinations, has found the cities that rank the highest in terms of street food.
The analysis looked at things like density of street food vendors, customer ratings, affordability, and the availability of vegetarian and vegan options to find which cities came out on top.
These are the top five cities for those looking for excellent street food while traveling.
Paris, France

Paris earned the top spot with a composite score of 7.2 out of 10. The capital of France boasts over 400 street food vendors with almost 70% receiving a four-star rating or higher. It also boasts 37 different cuisine types, offering a diverse range of offerings that helped it earn its spot at number one.
Athens, Greece

The second-highest ranked food city is Athens with a total score of 6.9 out of 10. Athens earned its spot thanks to a mix of variety and high quality. The capital of Greece boasts a total of 29 different cuisines, including souvlaki, gyros, fresh pastries, and international offerings too.
Thessaloniki, Greece

With a score of 6.1 out of 10, Thessaloniki earned third place. The second Greek city on the list, the analysis found that Thessaloniki has a high density of street food vendors as well as high customer ratings. Here you’ll find everything from grilled meats and seafood to bougatsa pastries.
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona earned fourth place with a score just below Thessaloniki of 5.9 out of 10. The city boasts over 200 street food vendors with an impressive 70 plant-based options, making it one of Europe’s best for vegetarians and vegans looking for an unforgettable culinary experience.
London, England
Most travelers don’t immediately think of London when planning a trip for food alone but the analysis shows that the city has a lot to offer in the street. It earned a score of 5.4 out of 10 and led all cities on the list for cuisine diversity with over 39 distinct cuisine types available.
