When indie-folk artist Noah Richardson isn’t writing songs or performing for growing crowds across the country, there’s a good chance you’ll find him in an unlikely place: Planet Fitness. It may not sound glamorous, but Richardson isn’t chasing flashy workouts. He’s chasing consistency. As his music career continues to gain momentum, the Philadelphia native has discovered that success on stage isn’t all that different from success in the gym. After years of investigation, the outgoing chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has released his take on new legislation to reform the controversial 340B Drug Pricing Program. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Louisiana, unveiled a legislative discussion draft that would stand as the first statutory update to the subsidy program in 15 years if introduced and signed into law. Broadly, it contains a slew of measures that have been vehemently opposed by the hospital industry, such as allowances for drug manufacturers to offer upfront discounts or rebates following the submission of claims data “in order to reduce diversion…

If you’ve trained for any competition, whether it was bodybuilding, marathon, triathlon, Olympics, or just really want to win at this thing called life, you’ve probably noticed how much it costs to get everything right. Amidst the meals and supplements, memberships to gyms and recovery spaces, not to mention coaches, the tabs add up fast. For Justin Hibbert, a six-year Ironman athlete, getting it right was running him $3,500 to $4,000 a month. At the height of his training, Hibbert had a swim coach, a bike coach, a run coach, a strength coach, a concierge medicine doctor, and a hormone…

Two micrograms is an almost unimaginably small amount. It weighs less than a tiny fragment of a grain of table salt. Yet adults need only around this amount of vitamin B12 each day, depending on the guideline used, to support red blood cells, nerves and DNA production. In 2026, it is 100 years since George Minot and William Murphy reported that a liver-rich diet could treat pernicious anemia, then a frequently fatal disease. Their work transformed medicine and eventually led scientists to identify vitamin B12 as the substance in liver that treated the disease. But the route to that breakthrough…
A rare and aggressive form of liver cancer has long resisted immunotherapy, a treatment that helps the body’s own immune system attack cancer cells. Now, researchers have identified a potential way to overcome that resistance using an FDA-approved drug that is already available for another medical condition. The findings suggest a possible new treatment strategy for fibrolamellar carcinoma, a rare liver cancer that primarily affects children and young adults. Fibrolamellar carcinoma makes up about 2% of all liver cancer cases. There is currently no cure, and the disease is often discovered only after it has spread to other parts of…
